Finding accommodation in Ireland is fairly easy as there are thousands of hotels and guest houses of different quality. I am going to include a simple tool that compares the prices of different travel agencies and hotel chains for your information.

There are several hotels and golf courses in the area all of which I am doing business with whenever required. I am going to list a few of them in the hope that you will like the area and  decide to stay in North Dublin. This would be the ideal location to explore the capital and its surrounding.

My first pick is the town of Portmarnock as at has two excellent golf courses:  Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links http://www.portmarnock.com/   and Portmarnock Golf Club  http://www.portmarnockgolfclub.ie/ . Both of them are links courses so you can play no matter what time of the year it is.

In addition Portmarnock Hotel offers a range of prices that suits all budgets as it has many different kinds of rooms. My favorite pick is the deluxe rooms in the new wing overlooking the golf course. The view is absolutely magnificent and the rooms are extremely tastefully designed. The best sunrise ever on a sunny day can be enjoyed in the rooms of the old wing on the third floor overlooking the ocean. The spotless beach in front of the hotel is one of the most beautiful in the area. Of course to add to the joy you may ask for a seat by the window in the Cocktail Bar and for a perfect cocktail such as a Mojito, Manhattan or whatever is your favorite.

Close to Portmarnock is the town of Malahide with a charming marina and lots of excellent restaurants. It is the home of Malahide castle http://www.malahidecastle.com/  with its beautiful grounds. You could also take a walk along the estuary and enjoy a variety of birds. The biggest hotel in the town is the Grand Hotel   http://www.thegrand.ie/  which is close to all amenities.

Another treasure in the area is the town of Howth on the Howth peninsula. There are two beautiful light houses and lots of walking ground overlooking the sea. Moreover rare plants, undisturbed wild life, fabulous shops and restaurants are all part of the magic. Just like Portmarnock it has two golf courses with unforgettable view of the ocean: Howth Golf Club  http://www.howthgolfclub.ie/ and Deer Park Golf Club  http://www.deerpark-hotel.ie/ .

There are two other golf courses close to Portmarnock  that add to the attractiveness of the area. The first is the Island http://www.theislandgolfclub.com/ and the second is the Corballis golf course  http://corballislinks.com/

Of course there are many other famous golf courses and resorts not to far away  that I take golfers to play: http://www.kclub.com/ ,   http://www.theroyaldublingolfclub.com/ , http://www.theeuropeanclub.com/ , http://www.druidsglen.ie/ , http://www.cartonhouse.com/ .

Naturally I am more than happy to wait for you until your game is over and take you to some of the famous spots in Dublin such as The Temple bar http://www.thetemplebarpub.com/ , the Guinness Storehouse http://www.guinness-storehouse.com , Gibney's of Malahide  http://gibneys.com/ or anywhere else that you have in mind.

If you need further information on the location of golf courses, hotels, sights to see, etc. you can check the map provided below.
